6 Days Kilimanjaro — Machame Route
The "Whiskey Route" — Summit the Roof of Africa at 5,895m

Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Rainforest Zone — 1,800m to 3,000m
After registration at Machame Gate (1,800m), begin your ascent through the lush montane rainforest. The trail is well-defined, passing through moss-draped trees and exotic bird habitats. Arrive at Machame Camp (3,000m) for your first night on the mountain.

Machame Camp to Shira Camp
Heath & Moorland — 3,000m to 3,840m
Leave the rainforest behind and enter the heath and moorland zone. The landscape transforms dramatically with giant heathers and stunning views. Cross a small valley and climb to the Shira Plateau with panoramic views of Kibo peak.

Shira Camp to Barranco Camp
Alpine Desert — Climb High, Sleep Low
Today follows the 'climb high, sleep low' principle for acclimatization. Ascend to Lava Tower (4,630m) for lunch, then descend to Barranco Camp (3,960m). The dramatic Barranco Wall awaits tomorrow. Stunning sunset views over the valley.

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
The Great Barranco Wall
Start with the famous Barranco Wall scramble — a thrilling non-technical climb that's one of the trek's highlights. Continue through the Karanga Valley with views of the Southern Icefields. Short day allows for rest before summit night.

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp & Summit Night
Summit Push — 4,200m to 5,895m!
Trek to Barafu Camp (4,673m) and rest until midnight. Begin summit push at midnight under the stars. Push through the arctic zone to Stella Point (5,756m) then along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) — the Roof of Africa! Watch the sunrise from the top of the continent.

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Descent & Celebration
Final descent through the rainforest to Mweka Gate. Receive your summit certificate and celebrate with your crew! Transfer back to Arusha for a well-deserved hot shower and celebration dinner. Optional: extend with a safari or Zanzibar beach holiday.
